Welcome to our classroom, where respect, responsibility, and collaboration are the cornerstones of our learning community. As we embark on this educational journey together, it's essential to establish clear expectations to ensure a positive and enriching experience for everyone. Here are our classroom rules, designed to foster a culture of mutual respect, accountability, and academic growth:
1. Raise your hand if you want to get up from your seat: Respect the learning environment by seeking permission before leaving your seat.
2. Getting up for non-emergencies: While we value your comfort, it's important to prioritize classroom engagement. Getting tissues, hand sanitizer, or sharpening pencils should be done before or after class.
3. Proactive preparedness: Arrive early to take care of personal needs, such as restroom breaks and pencil sharpening, to minimize disruptions during class time.
4. Upholding respect and dignity: Racial slurs, homophobic language, body shaming, and any form of physical violence are strictly prohibited.
5. Honesty and integrity: Maintain integrity by refraining from lying, cheating, racism, manipulation, or gaslighting.
6. Cultivating empathy and kindness: Make an effort to be inclusive, supportive, and compassionate towards classmates, even those you may not always see eye-to-eye with.
7. Collaboration and teamwork: When working in groups, actively participate and contribute your fair share to achieve our collective goals.
8. Time management and accountability: Use class time wisely, stay focused on tasks, and refrain from unnecessary disruptions or requests to leave the classroom.
9. Embracing challenges and growth: Approach learning with a growth mindset, acknowledging mistakes, apologizing sincerely, and striving to improve.
10. Demonstrating initiative and responsibility: Take ownership of your actions, help others, and contribute to maintaining a clean and orderly classroom environment.
11. Respect for class routines and procedures: Follow instructions regarding chromebook maintenance, cleanup, and dismissal procedures to ensure smooth transitions and efficient use of time.
12. Patience and participation: Stay engaged and cooperative until the end of the class period, respecting the teacher's guidance and announcements regarding packing up and dismissal.
By adhering to these rules, we create a supportive and conducive learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Let's work together to uphold these principles and make our classroom a place where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to our shared journey of learning and growth!
